Track and Trace with UHF RFID
Transparent Production Processes
The BIS U RFID systems from Balluff consist of a controller, antenna, and transponder. The system is pulse-capable and can simultaneously detect multiple data carriers.
The identification technology systems are oriented to customers needs.
Reading Distance of Up to Six Meters
The BIS U UHF long-range evaluation unit with a frequency range of 860 to 960 MHz is a standard technology for cross-process identification solutions and integrates RFID solutions into the IIoT. Direct communication with MES and ERP systems is possible via the built-in OPC UA server. Through multi-client and multi-port functionality, it is possible to implement applications running in parallel.
The BIS U RFID system consists of a controller, antenna, and transponder, and is suitable for writing and reading data at distances of up to six meters. The system is pulse-capable and can simultaneously detect multiple data carriers (tags).
"From our point of view, BIS U is not a classic product, but an identification technology system solution that is precisely oriented to customer needs," emphasizes Gerhard Matzke, Product Manager Technology and Identification at Balluff.
BIS U is preferably used for material (back)tracking and digitalization of production and intralogistics processes. It is also suitable for the passive location of tools and assets and can also be used for effective plagiarism protection. By encrypting the data, manufacturers of machines, vehicles or tools can ensure that only approved parts are fitted or installed.
A UHF-based identification system can be – but is not necessarily in all cases – the optimal solution when it comes to creating transparent production processes. Balluff has in-depth know-how and many years of experience with automation processes in various industries
