Quick and hygienical payment with cVEND plug!
Verkehr und Wasser GmbH (VWG) equipped its buses with contactless payment terminals from FEIG at the turn of the year. This means that from now on, passengers around Oldenburg can buy their tickets in a contactless and therefore particularly hygienic way directly on the bus.
The corona pandemic calls for safe hygiene concepts wherever many people come into contact with one another. Hygiene has become a critical factor, especially when using public transport. For this reason, VWG, as the public transport provider in the Oldenburg region, has equipped its entire bus fleet - over 100 vehicles - with contactless payment terminals from FEIG and has thus positioned itself as a pioneer for contactless payment in public transport.

Quick and hygienical payment with cVEND plug
More and more Germans are now also using cards or smartphones for small amounts. Because paying is safe, hygienic and very easy: If you want to buy your ticket directly on the bus, you no longer have to search for the right coins, but can pay conveniently and in seconds.
In cooperation with the companies INIT (on-board computer), First Data / Telecash (network operation) and FEIG ELECTRONIC (payment terminals), VWG has created an uncomplicated payment offer for its passengers. The heart of the system: the cVEND plug. The payment module is integrated flush in the on-board computer and covers a wide range of payment options such as girocard, debit card, credit card and GooglePAY or Apple PAY payments via NFC-enabled smartphones. Simply put on the card or device and you're done. The ticket is then automatically printed.
The fast processing of ticket purchases has another practical advantage for passengers: timetables can be adhered to more easily and stops can be reached on time.
