DENSO works with some of the world's largest fast food catering companies. These companies use RFID solutions for inventory and supply chain management.
"RFID-tagged food containers are delivered to restaurants. These are captured in the incoming goods department and entered into merged in the ERP/WMS system using RFID middle ware." explains David Walker, RFID Business Development Manager, DENSO WAVE EUROPE.
The time of goods receipt and the consumption date of the food is recorded. The stored food is closely monitored. A warning is automatically sent when the food reaches the consumption date.
"The timely consumption of food is ensured," David Walker points out. "Food commodity movement is optimized and losses from unused food are minimized. Efficient supply chain management is essential for sustainable food service operations."
