Dr. Michael Niggemann Explains the Benefits of Batteryless IoT Sensors for Industry 4.0!
The Think WIOT Day Livestream Automotive, IIoT & WIoT Technologies starts on March 16th 2022 with Dr. Michael Niggemann, Founder and Managing Director, Enerthing, giving a presentation on "Retro-fit digitalization of heterogeneous machine parks – Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and Condition Monitoring with self-powered sensors". The focus will be on increased scalability and application examples of Enerthing's photovoltaic-powered IoT sensors in Industry 4.0.
Increasing the Scalability of IoT Sensors through Energy Harvesting
Cable and battery changes can significantly affect the scalability of IoT sensors for Industrie 4.0 applications. In Enerthing's lecture, photovoltaic-powered IoT sensors will be presented based on specific use cases. These include overall plant effectiveness analysis, condition monitoring of equipment such as pumps, motors, conveyors and bearings, and production cycle measurements.
The battery-free sensors can measure vibration, temperature and humidity in industrial processes and manufacturing environments, and transmit the data to a dashboard. Deviations are detected in almost real time and a warning is sent.
