Sense Passive Tags & Labels
HID Global has recently launched its RFID Sense Passive temperature and moisture monitoring tags and labels. The range encompasses five products: Sense Fit 500, Sense IQ 550P, Sense IQ 175, Sense IQ 430 and the Sense IQ 200P.
This new product line uses the M3D Axzon Magnus Integrated Circuit . The new passive Sense range includes ceramic tags and printable on-metal and off-metal self-adhesive labels which can accurately read live temperatures as low as -70°C and up to 125°C, detect the presence of moisture and indicate the volume of liquids in containers.
The battery-less devices do not require maintenance and are ideal for monitoring the condition of assets in transit and storage in a broad range of industrial, IT and healthcare environments.
Applications: From Time Saving to Life Saving
The sense tags are built to be used for all kinds of use cases and environments and can be read from a distance by RAIN RFID UHF readers.

For example, vaccines often need to be maintained within a certain temperature range. These tags can indicate to medical staff if the vaccine vial has not been maintained at the required temperature, whether the vial has been used, or if the vaccine has been diluted. Failure on any of these points can lead to severe medical consequences.
Other applications include livestock temperature monitoring, moisture monitoring in roof structures, temperature and moisture monitoring in data centers, moisture monitoring of “smart diapers” for adults and children and moisture monitoring of engine components during automotive production.
The multiple form-factors and adhesion options make the tags suitable for virtually any use or application.
