UHF RFID Wristbands in Healthcare!

With the continuous advancement of the healthcare industry in recent years, the continuous improvement of people’s health awareness, and of the requirements for medical efficiency and the quality of medical services, an increasing number of hospitals are gradually adopting more efficient, accurate, and humanized medical management techniques and measures to improve medical services and the relationship between doctors and patients.

RFID technology - UHF RFID technology in particular - excels in its reading distance and group reading ability, and has attracted the attention of many healthcare institutions. RFID technology can be effectively used not only in the management of medical equipment, instruments, and tools, but also in patient management. The UHF RFID wristband from Huayuan is one of the future trends of innovation in the healthcare management system.

Adopting RFID technology is a step further in realizing the intelligence of healthcare treatment. Compared with medical ID bracelets used in the past, RFID wristbands have obvious advantages in application.

  1. For the hospital ID wristbands that were used in the past, the information could not be modified after writing. The bracelet becomes a disposable product and cannot be reused, increasing medical waste and affecting the realization of more modern and environmentally friendly medical development. The RFID wristband can be written repeatedly and recycled. RFID wristbands can add, modify, and delete the data stored in the tags countless times, which is convenient for updating the information, and can also achieves barrier-free reading.
  2. The surface of handwritten or printed hospital ID wristbands is easily damaged. If the information is damaged or unclear, it will seriously affect its function. Replacement and writing will also waste time and medical resources. RFID tags store data in the chip, and the wear on the surface will not affect the storage of chip information in any way. As long as there is no damage within, it can be recycled for several years.
  3. The RFID wristband receives and feeds back information through its internal RFID tag, and can also be encrypted, so that the information stored in the bracelet is effectively protected, is not easily leaked, and protects the privacy of the patient and the information security of the hospital.
  4. In the past, the barcode patient ID bracelets had to be scanned and read one by one in order to obtain information. They could not be identified by movement, and their monitoring capabilities were relatively weak. UHF wristbands can monitor whether the patient is in the ward through long-distance reading and multi-tag group reading, and can realize regional positioning management, thereby allowing better intelligent management of medical treatment, more convenient and lower staff costs, and achieving paperless operations.

At the same time, it is well known that UHF RFID products are subject to greater human interference. For wristbands worn on human wrists, it is difficult to achieve the advantages of RFID and UHF RFID technology in applications without special design and material selection.

For this reason, HUAYUAN Electronic has successfully launched the “Anti-Human Interference” UHF RFID Wristband after long periods of research and design investment, and realized stable long-distance recognition. The distance can reach up to 6 meters. At the same time, the appearance is uniquely designed using silicone material. It is durable and comfortable to wear.
