HUAYUAN Introduces its Eco-Friendly RFID Tags and Inlays
As a professional designer and manufacturer of RFID transponders, HUAYUAN has always been customer-focused, meeting customers’ needs and demands for environmental trends. The Shanghai-based company includes eco-friendly RFID tags as a sustainable paper-based alternative to regular RFID tags and labels in its product portfolio.
A Bio-Degradable Alternative
Traditional RFID tags are generally made of aluminum-etched antennas on PET substrates – most of which are disposable. However, it takes hundreds of years for PET substrates to degrade in natural environments. “Statistics show that around 15 billion RFID labels were used in 2019. With the sheer amount of RFID tags being produced, used, and discarded, it is understandable that the production of these tags causes pollution. In a response to this, HUAYUAN has designed and developed a bio-degradable alternative – the Eco UHF RFID Inlay Tag,” says Tao, General Manager at HUAYUAN.
The Eco UHF RFID Inlay Tag
To meet the increasing demand for eco-friendly RFID tags, HUAYUAN has developed its Eco UHF RFID Inlay Tag HEC3050U8 with a unique transponder design. The tag is paper-based and plastic-free. This eliminates the pollution caused by aluminum etching during the production of the antenna.
What are the Benefits of the Eco-Friendly Tag?
HUAYUAN’s paper-based Eco UHF RFID Inlay Tag can also be produced by using other bio-degradable textiles. The normal RFID antennas are etched in four weeks during production, while the Eco UHF RFID Inlay Tag only takes about 10 days. The Eco UHF RFID Inlay Tag is designed for applications in retail, from apparel to footwear and headwear. The cost of these eco-friendly inlays are comparable to that of regular aluminum-etched inlays, making them a great alternative for retailers who strive to play their roles in a sustainable future.
