UWB
Ultra-wideband UWB is a short-range radio technology which is used, for example, to replace cable-based connections between computers and peripheral devices. The maximum data rate is 480 megabits per second and the transmission power is usually less than one milliwatt. One area of application is RTLS in industrial environments which can be accurate within +/- 10 cm. Some brands of smartphones and laptops contain UWB chips; increasingly, household electronics are equipped with UWB chips, too.
