Smart Monitoring Enables Efficient Airport Operation
The aim is to ensure climate neutral operation of the Istanbul Grand Airport by 2050. The airport strategy: to monitor processes with sensors and use Big Data and AI to improve operative efficiency.
In the lecture, Bilal Yildiz will present the airport LoRaWAN network, as well as the latest use cases for smart monitoring. This includes smart waste water management, the management of critical infrastructure, as well as the monitoring of over 1,000 bathrooms in the airport terminals.
The challenge: specific use cases require sensors that are not readily available. Bilal Yildiz will explain how the İstanbul Grand Airport developed new, application-specific sensors, and how more processes will be monitored using LoRaWAN and sensors in the future.
