Michelin is driving digitalization in tire manufacturing: Together with Bridgestone, Continental, Goodyear and Pirelli, the Global Data Service Organization for Tires and Automotive Components (GDSO) was founded. The aim of the organization is to standardize the RFID tagging of car tires.
An RFID tag will be integrated into every car tire in the future. The RFID tag is permalocked with a unique item identifier giving access to individual tire information through a standardized service.
