RFID Antennas for On-Skin Applications

UHF RFID Antenna Conceptualization

Lecturer: Dr. Ibtissame Bouhassoune, PhD in Computer Science and Telecommunciations, Mohammed V University

Title: UHF RFID Spiral-Loaded Dipole Tag Antenna Conception for Healthcare Applications

Content:

    • RFID chip design for healthcare applications
    • Challenges for RFID use on the human body
    • Simulating tag performance on the model of a human arm
    • Research results and outlook for RFID applications in healthcare

The human body acts as an interference material, making the effective utilization of RFID tags in close proximity to skin for healthcare applications more difficult. Dr. Ibtissame Bouhassoune will present the latest research on a UHF RFID spiral-loaded dipole tag antenna for healthcare applications that has been conceptualized and tested on a model of the human arm.

The lecture will focus on the tag and antenna design, including adaptations made for the on-skin application of RFID as well as the outlook for future research in the field of RFID in healthcare.
