Vision of the Future Supply Chain with RAIN RFID
RAIN RFID in the Worldwide Supply Chain
1. NXP
NXP Semiconductors produces the ICs that are the heart of the RAIN RFID tags used in digitalization and IoT applications in the world wide supply chain.
2. Manufacturing
During production/manufacturing, the product is tagged with a RAIN RFID tag. The unique identity of each tagged item is tracked and monitored throughout its lifecycle.
3. Transport to the DC
After the RAIN RFID-tagged product leaves the factory, the item's transport route is accurately tracked.
4. Distribution Centre
RAIN RFID tags are captured in the incoming and outgoing goods areas of the distribution center or warehouse.
5. Transport
RAIN RFID tagged items are read to ensure the right items are on the right truck heading for the right retail outlet at the right time.
6. Shop
In the shop, the transponder is used for exact inventory. Omnichannel sales strategies become reality.
7. Customer
After the sale, the RAIN RFID tag can still have a benefit supporting warranty and reverse logistics use cases.
UCODE
The high read performance chip is designed for high volume use in retail and logistics applications. UCODE ensures long read ranges and fast inventory of RAIN RFID tag assets.
The wide band design provides the ability to produce high performance RAIN RFID tags that can be used internationally. The device also features a self-adjustment function, enabling tags to perform optimally in the ever changing environment of a modern supply chain.
UCODE DNA PRODUCT FAMILY
UCODE DNA has AES encryption functionality. In addition to high speed, accuracy and a reading range of up to 15 meters, UCODE DNA offers special privacy protection functions.
AES crypto-authentication can be used to protect data stored within the heart of the chip from unauthorized access. Applications range from electronic vehicle identification, identity documents and access control to brand protection.
UCODE MEMORY PRODUCT FAMILY
NXP's UCODE family with larger user memory is often used in industrial and logistics applications where additional data storage capacity is required. Within this larger memory bank data such as shipping date, expiry date, and content information can be stored offline.
