Bastian Klemke Presents a LoRaWAN-enabled Sensor for Soil Moisture Monitoring!
Bastian Klemke, Founder of the start-up Plantobelly, will give a lecture on the topic “Soil Moisture Monitoring with Sensor Technology and LoRaWAN” at the Think WIOT Day “Smart City, Environment & Future IoT”.
Find out more about soil moisture monitoring and irrigation planning in smart cities on June 15th at 10:00 CEST!
Preventing Tree Mortality with Optimized Irrigation Planning
As a result of climate change, summers are becoming increasingly hot and dry. Young trees in particular are at threat of drying out, as their roots are not fully developed and are unable to reach the deeper, more hydrated soil layers.
The start-up Plantobelly has developed the sensor Plantobelly, which monitors soil moisture at a depth of up to 60cm and transmits the data captured via LoRaWAN. The collected data is made available in a web service.
Bastian Klemke will explain the key facts of the Plantobelly sensor and how sensors, LoRaWAN and the web service enable an optimized and predictive irrigation planning in smart cities.
