RFID Table Scanner® UR20

The UR20 series comprises of the UR21 and UR22. The UR21 is perfectly suited for use at the POS: installed directly under the table, it scans all the products that the customer puts onto the counter. With its controlled small reading distance, unwanted scanning of the next customer’s products is therefore avoided. The difference with the UR22 is that it has a larger reading distance.

It can be placed above a gate, for example, to capture incoming and outgoing goods automatically.

Why Handhelds are superior to Smartphones

Consumer smartphones cannot deliver what employees really need! Companies today increasingly need to incorporate new technologies into their business processes and supply chains. Only then can they assert their position and are thus able to grow. In this regard, mobile technologies are the leading factors why companies need to keep abreast of this. Especially in any industrial environment, the question arises: what is better – consumer smartphone or classic data collection device? DENSO launched the first CCD scanner more than 30 years ago and has always evolved with new innovative technologies. “To be sure, consumer smartphones are increasingly being used in industries such as retail and logistics, and they are certainly creating numerous advantages. However, they cannot serve as replacements for handheld terminals because they cannot compete with them in functionality”, says Nicole Edler, Manager Sales Support.
