Industrial tablets for production, logistics, and retail
Whether for industrial production or retail, Bressner’s robust industry tablets from the Scorpion and Toucan series cover a broad range of application scenarios. The rugged mobile tablet computers are well-suited for use in production and machine control, on factory floors or for craftsmen, for extreme outdoor use, in logistics, in transport – for example in forklift applications – as well as for retail applications.
Tablets can also be used for applications in fleet management, as well as in a telematics environment. “Industrial tablets by Bressner can resist changing temperatures, moisture, repeated falls, vibration, as well as dust and dirt. Through their high performance, they are especially well suited for rugged industrial environments, as well as for outdoor use. We also offer solutions for food service industry and retail businesses, for which we provide a broad spectrum of holistic solutions as a one-stop shop,” Alexander Pluntke, Account Manager, Bressner Technology, explains.
Rugged enough? Up to military standard!
Industrial tablets by Bressner are equipped with wifi, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS, as well as a Windows 10 or Android operating system as standard. The devices can also be upgraded with 3G or LTE. Optionally, readers for 1D/2D barcodes and NFC/RFID for employee identification or time tracking can be included. With their hard rubber coating and extremely robust casing, the industrial tablets can withstand falling on concrete floors and provide up to eight hours of battery life.
The robust industry tablets are IP65, IP67, or IP68 certified, are compliant with the global military standard MIL-STD-810G, and are suited for use in temperature ranges of between minus ten and plus 50 degrees Celsius. Scorpion series tablets are available in sizes from seven to twelve inches, Toucan series tablets from 8.3 to 10.1 inches.
“We offer quality and service at a market-competitive price to our customers. Bressner customers have a four-year reorder guarantee and can use our customisation service. At 1,000 or more devices per order, we offer various customer-specific individualisation options as well,” Alexander Pluntke states.
“In 2018, Bressner will increase its focus on active, batterypowered touch pens with signature functionalities and docking stations for flexible terminal removal for forklift trucks. Another trend: mPOS-ready terminals for the food service industry and retail. Tablets are becoming mobile payment stations. Our mPOSready solution is based on the ten-inch version of our industrial tablet Toucan Mobile. In combination with a stable pedestal, the tablet can be used as a stationary point of sale and as a mobile device.” - Alexander Pluntke
Trends in 2018: active touch pens and docking stations
In 2018, Bressner will increase its focus on active, battery-powered touch pens with signature functionalities. “Our customers increasingly ask for industrial tablets with touch pens that can be used in incoming goods departments in warehousing or to manage access authorisations in industrial environments. The touch pen functionality is an additional security feature for mPOS-based payment as well,” Alexander Pluntke explains.
Another key focus will be docking stations for floor conveyors and industrial trucks. “We are registering a high demand from logistics businesses for tablet solutions for forklift trucks. These tablets can be mounted on a docking station, and be taken off quickly and easily. In order to offer our customers holistic solutions from a single provider, we are expanding our industrial tablet portfolio with a docking station that charges the battery and enables more flexible handling.”
New industrial tablets with Android 7.0
At the end of the first quarter of 2018, Bressner will hit the market with new industrial tablets with an Android 7.0 operating system in sizes of eight and ten inches. “With the operating system upgrade, Bressner ensures that customers are always up to date on both the hardware and the software side. Android 7 enables the comprehensive and seamless use of management device software, for example for the management of access rights.
Our customers can thus control which apps, data, or features on the tablet are available to the employees, depending on their tasks or areas of responsibility. In the case of personnel changes, the employee account and access can be deleted while the data is saved and the access is reassigned. Our products can be reordered for a period of four years to generate security for the customer. We offer warranties of twelve, 24, or 36 months,” Alexander Pluntke states.
mPOS-ready terminals for food service industry and retail
In 2018, Bressner will also expand its solutions portfolio for mPOS-ready terminals that transform tablets into mobile payment stations. Mobile points of sale, or mPOS, enable users to integrate mobile payment functionalities into phones or tablets with an app and a connectible card reader. Bressner sees possible future application areas for mobile payment tablets within the food service industry, as well as in retail. “Our mPOS-ready solution is based on the ten-inch version of our industrial tablet Toucan Mobile.
In combination with a stable pedestal, the tablet can be used as a stationary point of sale. The tablet can be used as a mobile device via an easy dismount function, and can fulfil all customer needs. With its ten-inch surface, the Toucan Mobile is a well-suited entry model. We can offer a complete hardware and software package via a cooperation with payment software companies. Aside from retail, future applications include restaurants, ice cream shops, or libraries.”
New website with a stronger application focus
In addition to its new mPOS business, Bressner Technology is making its redesigned corporate website a priority for 2018. Alexander Pluntke explains: “We are expanding the presentation of our product portfolio for industrial solutions with new components, such as product images directly from real-world application scenarios and use cases. All tablet solutions will have their own individual web presence. This will make it easier for returning and new customers to visualise and realise the best solution for their application and their industry.”
