Waterproof: RFID tags with sensor element test for leaks

Together with its partners Smartrac and Vilant, Turck offers a fully automated leakage testing system in automobile production. The system is based on UHF-RFID technology and detects all leakages in car bodies without the need for any manual intervention.

For this the car body is fitted during the production process with self-adhesive tags at relevant points.

If the tag detects humidity, it reacts with a change in impedance, which is registered by the RFID read/write heads in the gates.

Turck Presents UHF Handheld With Smartphone Connection

Turck expands its RFID portfolio with the PD20 UHF handheld offering a smartphone connection The PD20 expands Turck's RFID product portfolio with a UHF handheld for connecting to a smartphone. Users can control the PD20 via the free Turck app, which is installed on their Android or iOS smartphone or tablet. Depending on the RFID tag to be read and the environment, the device has a read range of two meters and more.

Turck Presents UHF Reader Platform for Industry 4.0

Direct connection of external antennas increases flexibility of read/write heads and simplifies gate applications At the SPS IPC Drives fair, Turck will be presenting the first device in its Q300 UHF reader family with an Ethernet interface. RFID users particularly benefit from the range of platforms and interfaces of the Q300 readers. Up to four external antennas can be connected directly on the reader, thus considerably simplifying the creation of high performance gate applications in multiplex operation. The direct connection of triggers and signals via universal I/Os also simplifies the installation. With an output power of up to 2 W the readers can achieve very large read/write ranges. Their selectable antenna polarization enables read holes to be excluded in any environment, even with a high output.

Turck's RFID system reduces reading time for tool turret of CNC machine

Tool Identification with RFID Barcodes and laser engraving have for a long time no longer met the identification requirements of cutting tools in CNC machines. Although wireless RFID systems are already used, the short range of the existing solutions require time consuming compromises in practical applications. Together with Turck, a Chinese manufacturer of CNC machines has now implemented an RFID solution for tool management that is Industry 4.0 compliant. Thanks to the extended read/write range, the read time for a tool turret is reduced from 130 to 10 seconds, thus considerably increasing production efficiency for the end customer.

Turck's TBEN-L RFID module With Integrated OPC UA server

Integrated OPC UA server simplifies the connection of factory automation to the IT world At the Hannover Messe 2018 Turck presented an IP67 RFID interface with an integrated OPC UA server. The platform-independent OPC UA communication standard enables the TBEN-L OPC UA to simplify the integration of RFID systems in systems such as ERP, MES or cloud systems, as well as in controllers. Authentication and integrated security protocols protect communication between the systems from unauthorized access and manipulation.

Turck Cloud Solution for Industrial Applications

Preconfigured data evaluation for industrial tasks, data security and simple handling in visualizations Turck is presenting its Turck Cloud Solutions service at the Hannover Messe. The data is transferred directly from Turck's controller and I/O components to the cloud. For this, Turck is using the Kolibri protocol recently purchased from Beck IPC, which guarantees encrypted communication to the cloud. Users can thus save and evaluate production data in the Turck cloud – either just for monitoring tasks or for optimizing their processes and plants.
