Our RFID Product Portfolio for your Wireless IoT Implementation

Being the inventor of the QR Code®, DENSO is a specialist in scanners and handheld terminals for mobile data capture – in retail, warehousing, manufacturing and many more industries. Some years ago, we started to expand our portfolio range to include RFID products. RFID technology shows unique possibilities for current and especially for future developments within the framework of the Internet of Things.

In a time, when everything is smartly interconnected, our RFID terminals come in helpful. Our pocket scanner SE1-BUB-C is our smallest and most lightweight scanner; perfectly usable at the POS and for short distance reading. On the other hand, our BHT-1200 RFID is one of our most popular gun grip handheld terminals and is made for long distance scanning in warehouses, for example.

With the implementation of RFID technology in some of our intuitive products, we are proud to be one of the drivers of the Internet of Things.

New Innovation on the Market: DENSO’s SP1 RFID Scanner

Simple smart devices are turned into high-speed UHF RFID scanners! DENSO, part of the Toyota Group and inventor of the QR Code, introduces the innovative SP1 RFID scanner to the market. With the modern RFID scanner from the experts of mobile data collection, simple smart devices are turned into high-speed UHF RFID scanners. Processes, such as inventories, can be accelerated by up to 50 per cent, in comparison to previous models. “RFID allows an enormous increase in efficiency in data collection, for example in retail and logistics. With our new SP1 RFID scanner, the RFID feature can now be added to almost any smart device. This allows companies, from the sectors retail and logistics for instance, to avoid having to completely replace their equipment. However, they can still include RFID technology into their processes, such as inventories,” explains Kaber Kolioutsis, Marketing Communication Specialist at the DENSO Auto-ID Business Unit.

DENSO at the LogiMAT 2019

Innovative Handhelds, an RFID Sled, and ORiN DENSO, part of the Toyota Group and inventor of the QR Code, presents the BHT-1700 and BHT-1800 at this year’s LogiMAT: two innovative handheld terminals for mobile data collection with exceptionally large screens. In addition, the experts for mobile data collection will introduce their modern SP1 RFID sled at the LogiMAT. A presentation by DENSO, part of the Toyota Group, is also on the agenda of the LogiMAT: The inventors of the QR Code are going to introduce ORiN, the new smart data management platform.

Why Handhelds are superior to Smartphones

Consumer smartphones cannot deliver what employees really need! Companies today increasingly need to incorporate new technologies into their business processes and supply chains. Only then can they assert their position and are thus able to grow. In this regard, mobile technologies are the leading factors why companies need to keep abreast of this. Especially in any industrial environment, the question arises: what is better – consumer smartphone or classic data collection device? DENSO launched the first CCD scanner more than 30 years ago and has always evolved with new innovative technologies. “To be sure, consumer smartphones are increasingly being used in industries such as retail and logistics, and they are certainly creating numerous advantages. However, they cannot serve as replacements for handheld terminals because they cannot compete with them in functionality”, says Nicole Edler, Manager Sales Support.
