Application Fields

Elatec – proximity readers designed in Germany

Elatec RFID Systems was founded in 1988 and specialises in developing and selling proximity (RFID, NFC, Bluetooth) and contact (Smartcard) writing and reading modules. Elatec is based in Munich, where it also operates a production facility, and has a number of international sales offices and partners all over the world.

Elatec’s most advanced product is the TWN4 MultiTech 3 BLE multi-frequency/multi-standard reader, which supports NFC, Bluetooth Low Energy as well as both high (13.56 MHz) and low (125/134.2 kHz) RFID frequencies, allowing it to simultaneously read out more than 60 of the most common RFID technologies used internationally.

Elatec’s products are available as PCB and desktop readers/ writers. They are used in many different kinds of applications and OEM solutions including but not limited to: secure printing, time-tracking, tablets, access control, production, distribution, kiosk systems, POS systems, single sign-on and more.

Contactless readers - LF & HF RFID, NFC and BLE

Elatec’s TWN4 series of RFID reader modules enable solution providers and developers to enjoy maximum flexibility during integration. The modules support a wide range of RFID standards and technologies, which allows for a limited number of product variants.

The TWN4 MultiTech Nano range is also extremely compact, with dimensions of 31 x 17.8 x 2.7 mm. With the components mounted to one side, it facilitates easy placement on the main circuit board. Elatec also offers users who only require an RFID frequency range of 13.56 or 125/134.2 kHz the less-expensive TWN4 MultiTech Nano HF and TWN4 MultiTech Nano LF variants.

Moreover, the readers TWN4 MultiTech Nano and TWN4 MultiTech HF support NFC and are particularly well suited for integration into mobile devices. Customer specific product variants enable integration into products, which are to be certified for payments according to the EMVCo standard.

30 years of ELATEC Are Just the Beginning
