Industrial Identification and Locating

Digitalization of the industry requires new concepts for planning, implementation, and control of production and logistics.

Industrial Identification and Real-Time Locating Systems (RTLS) are becoming a key technology for the Digital Enterprise. Our solutions close the gap between the real and the digital worlds, and create new potential for our customers to add value.

As the world‘s leading provider of identification and locating technology, Siemens offers a comprehensive product range and the right solution for your industry, as well as your field of application. As your partner, we will integrate the systems easily and provide technology-independent application consulting services.

Intelligent data management with Industrial Identification and Locating

We create transparency along the entire production and supply chain. In the process, we enable manufacturing of complex products with a wide range of variation and a high degree of customization, right down to single-unit batches. That means companies can respond faster and more efficiently to customer requests and market demands, while simultaneously improving quality.

We already offer the industry of the future a unique, consistent end-to-end range of RF and optical identification and locating systems for customer-specific applications. The connection with TIA ensures products are seamlessly integrated in the production cycle. Connection to MindSphere maximizes flexibility and ensures that manufacturing will remain viable into the future.

KPIs like plant availability, capacity utilization, and energy saving potentials are made transparent, and MindSphere also allows large volumes of data to be analyzed and used efficiently. The result is assured competitiveness and a flexible future.

New on-metal label convinces with compact design and large memory

Simatic RF642L on-metal label Siemens extends its Simatic RF600 portfolio for ultra-high frequency (UHF) products to include the Simatic RF642L on-metal label. The self-adhesive Simatic RF642L was developed for direct mounting on metal surfaces and has a reading range of up to 2.8 meters. Due to its compact design and protection against water (degree of protection IP68), the label is primarily suitable for use in harsh industrial environments.

New device series ensures high frequency RFID cloud connection

Simatic RF18xC communication modules extend Simatic Ident portfolio Siemens is extending its portfolio of Simatic Ident communication modules. The first devices of the new series to launch are the Simatic RF185C, RF186C and RF188C. Available options allow one, two or four readers to be connected and operated via Ethernet/Profinet, ensuring a match to the required number of readers. Depending on the application, data throughput can be increased by up to 20 percent using the new devices. Cost efficiency due to differentiated connection variants for readers Modular system integration for Profinet using standard function blocks Cloud connection via OPC UA interface and industrial IoT gateway

Siemens Presents New Compact UHF RFID Reader Simatic RF615R

Siemens extends RFID portfolio with compact reader for space-saving uses Siemens is extending its range of Simatic RF600 ultra-high frequency (UHF) devices to include a new RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) reader. The Simatic RF615R comes with a particularly compact design (133 x 155 x 45 millimeters), an internal, circularly polarized antenna and an additional external antenna connection. New Simatic RF615R UHF reader with particularly compact design Connection to cloud environments via OPC UA interface and industrial IoT gateway "UHF for Industry" algorithms secure operation in environments with poor radio signals
