Title: Implementation of RFID and Wireless IoT Technologies into Building Information Modelling (BIM)
Content:
- Accurate localisation and guidance systems for blind and mobility impaired people in indoor areas based on Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and Building Information Modeling (BIM).
- Reliable recognition, assignment and tracking of the objects throughout their lifecycle by RFID tags to detect hidden infrastructure objects.
- Development of an App, which can be accessed and presented to users in visual and audio form, for detecting structures in various environments.
RFID, sensors and beacons are being used in construction projects to make processes on building sites more efficient, as well as to document and assign information to construction objects.
Abduaziz Juraboev explains how RFID transponders can be used in construction material and be connected with BIM models to create digital twins. The connection of RFID transponders and BIM models enables new use cases. This includes the development of electronic guidance systems to improve orientation for people with impaired mobility in buildings and the identification of objects in sewage systems for predictive maintenance.
