Building Efficient Systems with IoT Sensors and LoRaWAN
There are numerous possibilities for the implementation of IoT and LoRaWAN infrastructure. At the İGA Istanbul Airport, IoT sensors are used in applications ranging from temperature and humidity monitoring to management of fire safety, smart metering, landscape systems, energy systems, mechanical systems and aviation systems.
“There is an increasing motivation to implement IoT technology”, says Bilal Yildiz. “The important part is to effectively apply the technology in practical use cases. At the İGA Istanbul Airport, we have many different departments and applications that make use of IoT and LoRaWAN.”
The IoT sensors provide the airport administration with data that gives advanced insights into operational processes, enabling greater efficiency in the different departments of the İGA Istanbul Airport.
“Standard and conventional automation systems cannot supply many types of data”, explains Bilal Yildiz. “If the target is to achieve greater efficiency, more data must be collected. At this point, wireless IoT sensors are necessary. They are the basis for efficient infrastructures that use AI and machine learning.”
