Production Security Readiness Check Test!
Lecture by Jonathan Krauß and Alexander Kreppein on March 17th.
Jonathan Krauß, Group Manager and Alexander Kreppein, Project Manager at Fraunhofer IPT will give a lecture on March 17th on the topic of cybersecurity and networked production. Many networked companies are not sufficiently prepared for a possible cyber attack. How high is the risk of a cyber attack? What protective measures are most effective?

Machinery Becomes a Black Box
In networked production facilities, plant, machinery and network technology are interconnected in an IT environment. Insufficient security updates of machines make them highly vulnerable to attack. “Small companies in particular do not have any IT security experts available. A study conducted by the Fraunhofer IPT with 28 companies showed that hardly any of them are prepared for an attack.
Not one of the companies surveyed meets all cybersecurity requirements. Yet, while just under half of the companies with more than 250 employees can be certified as having at least partially implemented the necessary cybersecurity measures, the majority of small and medium-sized companies do not even reach this mark,” explains Jonathan Krauß.
Solution: Production Security Readiness Check
"With the PSRC test, companies can determine their current security level and thus initiate optimization processes at an early stage. The test focuses on both the introduction and management of methods for securing IT, operational technology and the environment in which both are used" says Alexander Kreppein. The test is designed for manufacturing companies of all industries, and of all sizes, and structures.
