The Latest Research on Microbatteries Presented at the Think WIOT Day

Dr. Robert Hahn Presents Microbattery Research Projects and Use Cases!

On November 16th, the Think WIOT Day Livestream "Industrial IoT & Wireless IoT Technologies" starts with informative expert lectures. Among them: Dr. Robert Hahn from the Fraunhofer Institute for Reliability and Microintegration (IZM)!

In the lecture "Miniaturized Batteries for the Smallest Applications", the audience will learn everything about microbatteries – from development and production to concrete applications in agriculture, medicine and industry.

19 Mar 2024 - Livestream: Unlocking the Power of IoT in Logistics

The Think WIOT Day "Industrial IoT & Wireless IoT Technologies" livestream starts at at 10:00 CET - register now!

Microbatteries are just between 1 and 10 millimeters wide and between 0.25 and 2 millimeters thick – sometimes they are even smaller! This makes them suitable for applications where the smallest batteries are required, for example for implants in healthcare.

Technical details on the production process, performance and comparisons with conventional batteries, as well as information on next-generation battery materials, will be provided in the lecture by Dr. Robert Hahn.

The lecture will focus on potential applications for microbatteries in agriculture, medical technology and industry:

15 Feb 2024 - 5. Think Day Livestream 2024: Wireless IoT Technologies

In the Sens4bee project, an RFID-based sensor is being developed that can be used to collect data both in hives and on individual animals. An important component is the microbattery, which is small and light enough to be carried by a bee.

In addition, microbatteries are being used in healthcare applications. Use cases include new hearing aids that rest directly on the eardrum, measurement of eye pressure in ophthalmology, and blood pressure measurement.

Dr. Robert Hahn will reveal concrete details on the use cases as well as an outlook for further use cases of microbatteries at the Think WIOT Day on November 16th – join the livestream!
