5G in Practice – 2 Think WIOT Day Expert Lectures to Come

Test Environment Site 5G-Industry Campus Europe and Industrial 5G Router from Siemens on September 7th!

On September 7th at the "Wireless IoT Technologies" Think WIOT Day there will be two expert lectures on the topic of 5G: The 5G-Industry Campus Europe testbed for new application fields and Siemens' industrial 5G router for a wireless factory of tomorrow.

The livestream conference starts at 09:30 CEST. Register Today – Participation is Free of Charge!

5G-Industry Campus Europe - Test Environment for 5G

The 5G-Industry Campus Europe will be the focus of the technical lecture by Niels König, Head of Department Production Measurement Technology at Fraunhofer IPT and Coordinator 5G-Industry Campus Europe. The first site in Europe with a comprehensive 5G network for testing new 5G applications under real-life conditions.

König will present the application scenarios on September 7: From 5G sensor technology for monitoring and controlling highly complex manufacturing processes, mobile robotics and logistics as well as cross-site production chains. Testing the use of modern edge cloud systems for fast data processing is also a possibility. The result: a unique ecosystem in which real-time process analyses and closed-loop applications can be implemented and validated.

Sander Rotmensen, Director Industrial Wireless Communication, Siemens, presents the first 5G-Router from Siemens.

Siemens: Industrial 5G Router - for the Wireless Factory of Tomorrow

The technical lecture by Sander Rotmensen, Director Industrial Wireless Communication, Siemens will focus on the first 5G router from Siemens. This can connect local industrial applications with 5G mobile networks. Facilities, machines and devices can be monitored and maintained remotely via a public 5G network. High data rates are possible in the process.

The router can also be integrated into private 5G networks. Rotmensen will also present how the use case is being tested in a prototype private standalone 5G test network at Siemens' Automotive Showroom and Test Center on September 7th.
