Artificial Intelligence in the Hospital of the Future on May 12

Universitätsmedizin Essen Presents SmartHospital.NRW!

Lecture by Dr. Stefanie Frölich at the Think WIOT Day Healthcare.

The SmartHospital.NRW consortium project, launched in March 2021 under the supervision of Universitätsmedizin Essen, focuses on reducing the workload of hospital staff, improving the quality of care and increasing the efficiency of handling processes. Project partners include the Fraunhofer Institute for Intelligent Analysis and Information Systems IAIS and for Digital Medicine MEVIS, RWTH Aachen and TU Dortmund.

Dr. Stefanie Frölich, research associate in the department of "Digital Transformation" at Universitätsmedizin Essen, will give a lecture on the SmartHospital.NRW project in the livestream on May 12th and answer questions on the subject of AI live. AI-based applications, designed for use in the real world, are being exemplarily tested in the research project.

Attending is worthwhile, because the speakers will include application examples in the lectures and will answer questions in the live chat. Register free of charge for May 12th and take part in the digital conference „Wireless IoT Solutions in Healthcare“ starting at 10:00 CEST.

What Can ''AI in the Hospital'' Achieve?

  • Intelligent creation and processing of medical documents
  • AI-powered health data analytics for diagnostics
  • Voice interfaces for contactless and sterile communication at the computer workstation

The SmartHospital.NRW Research Project Aims to Be Sustainable

All hospitals should benefit from the research results. Therefore, a transferable process model that can be applied to hospitals with different degrees of digitization will be used. This way, even smaller medical facilities can implement the solutions and technologies.

The developed applications and prototypes will be presented to the public in the showroom at Universitätsmedizin Essen and further possible applications in other hospitals will be evaluated.
