Real time Data Transmission Enables New Industrial Use Cases
5G is the fifth-generation technology for broadband cellular networks. It enables the set up of networks with higher download speeds of up to 10 GB per second and low latency. This makes the technology a prerequisite for applications that require near real-time communications. Learn all about the latest 5G test fields and research projects live!

New 5G Solutions With Fast, Low Latency Communications
A total of four speakers will provide practical insights into the latest 5G uses cases.
- First, Dominik Bittner from Siemens will explain the current status of 5G network deployment worldwide, the necessary steps for a successful 5G rollout and upcoming technology building blocks.
- Second, Christian Schellenberger and Daniel Lindenschmitt from the RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau will present practical research applications of 5G, including an augmented worker solution for machine control via EEG and eye tracker, intralogistics with AGVs and production.
- Third, Sarah Schmitt from the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT will give a live demonstration of 5G applications at the 5G Industry Campus Europe. This includes vibration measurement in engines, condition monitoring for drilling tools and real-time control with 5G over TSN.
