NFC for Mobile Health at the Think WIOT Day “Healthcare, Laboratory, Security” on May 11th
Tuomi is a system house specializing in mobile and cloud-based applications with NFC. The number of interconnected medical devices and products will increase within the upcoming years. A few of those devices will be controlled by smartphone applications or via a cloud. This facilitates the use while security is placed as first priority. Johannes Roos, Managing Director at Tuomi, explains why more and more medical devices will be part of the IoMT and how the data generated can be protected.
If you own a smartphone, you won’t want to miss this talk at the Think WIOT Day “Healthcare, Laboratory, Security” on May 11th!
In his presentation, Johannes Roos explains why it behooves us now to understand what is involved in the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT). The IoMT is about to expand considerably in size. Due to EU and American health legislation, a lot more medical data is being generated already and will be produced in the future, and not just in pharmaceutical logistics or in track & trace applications in hospitals. The opportunities for individuals to monitor and influence their own health via smartphone apps is also on a steep increase. But how can individuals make sure that their health data is safe? How can patients influence who has access to their data and who does not? Johannes Roos will shed light on these questions and on the interesting partnership with SciPharm who develop pharmaceutical treatments against rare diseases.
