Inlay Development and Production for Customized Solutions
GERA-IDENT serves a wide variety of application areas with identification products and systems. These include industry, automotive, supply chain and production control. Depending on the application, the appropriate HF or UHF inlay including chip is used in these.
The problem: in long-running projects for complex applications, the antennas and chips used had to be replaced – and without bringing about a significant change in performance or altering the infrastructure and processes. As a result, GERA-IDENT began developing and producing its own inlays as early as 2019 to meet customer requirements. Obsolete antennas and chips were successfully replaced with the new inlays.
Resilient Production and Supply Chains Ensured Even in Times of Crisis
GERA-IDENT achieves advantages for customers with the production of in-house inlays, especially in times of material and chip shortages, and supply bottlenecks. Products can be quickly adapted depending on component availability. The ability to deliver is maintained. The resilience of customers' production and delivery processes increases.

The company's expertise in inlay production has grown beyond meeting ecological and economic requirements. In the meantime, GERA-IDENT is active in all processes from chip to finished label and is also involved in the latest research. One of the latest innovations is a new UHF chip, which is being developed together with the Fraunhofer IPMS.
"The new UHF chip has a standardized sensor interface as well as additional features. The research and conception of this chip was actively accompanied by GERA-IDENT," explains Ramin Hassan. "After the development is completed, the chip can be used for special customized solutions."
