In his lecture, Dan Byles shows how AI and data science transform healthcare, drive down costs and improve outcomes for everyone. Using AI and everyday devices such as smartphones, UnifAI are pioneering accessible remote digital diagnostics for a range of health conditions.
A mature product which has resulted from the pioneering efforts is the AI-powered Digital Reader for COVID-19 lateral flow tests. As of January 2022, it is certified to be used by medical staff in the UK. The story behind this reader and the technology in it will be explained. Lastly, Dan Byles will point to other uses of remote diagnostics such as microbiome monitoring.
