The 13.56 MHz All-in-One reader with integrated antenna and processor unit in the rugged die-cast zinc housing needs no additional processor and can communicate directly with the control level over Ethernet/IP.

Suitable for installation directly on metal, the unit features a 2-port Ethernet switch for constructing simple line and ring topologies as well as an integrated web server for convenient condition monitoring remotely. Highly visible LEDs reduce startup and down times.

The simple and practical solution for connecting RS232 with IO-Link Contrary to popular belief, serial RS232 communication is still used in many industrial applications. A typical example is the use of barcode scanners in the automobile or packaging industry. Integrating RS232 interfaces into the existing control architecture is, however, often expensive and time-consuming because special components are often necessary, such as RS232 cards for the controller. Record growth at Balluff: Group turnover rises in 2017 to €459 million

Rapid sales growth continues in the first quarter of 2018 The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) is behind some happy faces in Neuhausen: the high demand for industrial automation solutions has resulted in record growth for the Balluff Group in 2017. Together with the sales figures from two companies brought into the fold during the past fiscal year the sensor and automation specialist from Neuhausen near Stuttgart showed an increase of 21.4 percent to €459 million. Sales in 2016 were €378 million. Even without the new companies the increase of 16 percent would have represented a record.

Balluff Extends Company Headquarters

Automation specialist Balluff presents the plans for its new extended company headquarters in Neuhausen. Construction start is planned for 2019. The new campus will provide jobs for 1250 employees. Since its foundation almost a century ago, the automation specialist, Balluff has been based in Neuhausen. Due to company growth it was already clear in 2013 that the headquarters would soon be stretched to the limits. The initial idea was to extend the premises on Schurwaldstraße with a focus on logistics and office space. However, since 2015 the emphasis has shifted to the long-term development of the Balluff headquarters. The company decided on an architecture competition to acquire a diverse selection of sustainable and viable solution proposals. From the call issue in August 2017 it took just four months to reach a decision.
