SSO with RFID
An authentication system using RFID cards and single sign-on is faster and easier for users than typing their respective passwords. The card is held in front of the reader for authentication, and the authorized user gains access. When the employee leaves his PC workstation, he takes his RFID badge with him to gain access to other areas. This means that the card is no longer within reading range and the system automatically closes the session at the workstation. This reduces the number of unlocked computers and makes it more difficult for unauthorized users to gain access.
Christophe Aubry, Global Account Manager at Elatec, explains, "Most cyberattacks don't come from outside hospitals. They come from inside. All you have to do is insert a USB stick containing a virus into one of the many computers that are not locked down. It's not that difficult."
