LEGIC Identsystems Presents LEGIC Connect Go

The World of Secure Mobile Credentials Made Easy

Swiss company LEGIC Identsystems has introduced “LEGIC Connect Go”, a mobile “Credentials as a Service” platform. The software service enables customers virtually anywhere in the world to easily deploy secure, high availability, mobile app-based services without their own 24/7 backend. Carl Fenger, Technical Communications Manager at LEGIC, provides further insights into the platform.

A Compact Version of LEGIC Connect

LEGIC Connect Go is a leaner, quicker-to-deploy version of the company’s “LEGIC Connect” platform which has been rolled out at large companies worldwide such as major hotel chains to enable smartphone-based check-in and room access control. It enables SMEs to quickly deploy mobile app services, for instance touchless, on-demand access to printers, without needing their own 24/7 backend.

“We also upgraded our LEGIC 6000 series Security Modules: they are now suitable for reader devices that must be compatible with Apple Wallet using ECP 2.0 for communication with Apple smart devices,” says Carl Fenger, and continues, “In addition, the modules also support Bluetooth wake-up. This feature enables IoT devices and infrastructure to broadcast a customer-defined designator and status via Bluetooth Low Energy, even while in low-power sleep-mode. This enables mobile devices to automatically search for, discover, filter, wake-up and connect to a specific Bluetooth-enabled peripheral device such as electronic door, locker, shared vehicle, etc.”

A Complete Sensor Node Solution for IIoT Solutions

“LEGIC has recently acquired the XDK IoT Platform from Bosch which we are integrating into our Security Platform. It is a complete sensor node solution that allows designers to quickly create Industrial IoT Solutions that can be securely configured, managed, and monitored via mobile devices in both online and offline environments,” explains Carl Fenger.

What is special about our IIoT Platform is that in addition to monitoring of infrastructure and machines, it manages the interactions between users and industrial assets, for example the authorization and logging of who did what, when, where and with what asset. This is particularly useful for quality control, auditing and insurance claims purposes. “We see main applications in the management of logistical processes, industrial equipment, and building management”, says Carl Fenger.
