Market Launch of New RFID Handhelds and Readers!
In 1958, Pepperl+Fuchs developed the first proximity switch. The company successively developed into an expert for industrial sensors and electrical explosion protection. Today, Pepperl+Fuchs continues its history of innovation: The IUT F190 B40 UHF RFID read/write station and the IC-HH51/ICHH52 handhelds are the latest additions to the RFID product portfolio.
Read/Write Station IUT F190 B40
The typical reading range of the UHF RFID write and read station is approx. 2 meters. The device has a robust, compact housing and is certified to IP67 protection class. Region-specific variants are available for Europe, the USA and Canada, China and other countries.
"The IUT F190 B40 is the most compact UHF RFID reader in its performance class," explains Sascha Päschel, RFID Product Manager, Pepperl+Fuchs. "The device has integrated IOs and a web interface, as well as a multiprotocol-capable Industrial Ethernet interface. Furthermore, the device can also be connected via a REST API."
"The interfaces aim to simplify integration into IT systems," Päschel continues. "An expansion of the interfaces is still planned for 2022."
RFID Handhelds IC-HH51 & IC-HH52
The new handhelds are modular. LF, HF and UHF modules are attached via a sliding mechanism. The module can be changed without tools. The devices are certified to IP54 and are suitable for indoor and outdoor use. The IC-HH52 also has an integrated barcode imager and camera.
"The handhelds use Android™ Industrial+, a hardened version of the operating system familiar to smartphones and tablets. This prevents the unintentional disclosure of sensitive data to third parties," explains Sascha Päschel. "The device is particularly suitable for production environments. The creation of application-specific software is possible. With coverage of all frequency ranges, a wide variety of use cases is possible."
Pepperl+Fuchs plans to add a new, cost-effective RFID reader for short ranges to its product portfolio in 2023.
