+3,000 Stores UHF RFID-Enabled by the End of 2021!
At the Think WIOT Day "Knowledge for Retailers" on February 17th, Stefan Otte, VP Global Real Estate & Partner Retail, Levi's, will provide detailed insights into why RFID is becoming the standard technology in the fashion retail sector, and how technology adoption is boosting sales, reducing costs and increasing customer satisfaction.
Levi's draws on global experience: More than 50 million Levi's products are currently tagged with UHF RFID labels. 100 percent of U.S. stores are equipped with RFID hardware and are therefore fully RFID-enabled.

Solving the Greatest Challenge with Technology
How can customers always find the exact item they are looking for? It's a simple question, but one that challenges every store associate. If a customer is looking for a specific model in their size, those jeans should ideally be on the designated shelf. The frequent store reality: Either the model they are looking for is in a different location or has been sold off without triggering a replenishment process.
A quick glance at the jeans assortment alone makes it clear how extensive the store stock is. In addition to a wide variety of cuts, these are available in different colors and washes as well as numerous length/width combinations. On average, customers can choose from 200 different options – 120 for men and 80 for women. Showing every customer the exact model they want, or knowing if it's in stock at another store – that's the service Levi's achieves with RFID deployment.
3,000 Company-Owned Stores are Only One Side of the Coin
Over the course of the year, all of the approximately 3,000 Levi's-exclusive stores worldwide are to be made fit for use with RFID hardware. Customers and store operators will thus reap the benefits of the technology. Yet this is only one side of the coin. On the other, 50,000 multi-brand stores and online accounts in 110 countries are already selling RFID-tagged Levi's products.
The entire process implemented by Levi's is based on source tagging. Every retailer can use the RFID information of the tagged products in their own processes.
