Abduaziz Juraboev, Research Associate at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen, will give a lecture titled “Implementation of RFID and Wireless IoT Technologies into Building Information Modelling (BIM)” at the Think WIOT Day “Smart City, Environment & Future IoT”.

New Wireless IoT Technology Use Cases in Civil Engineering

RFID, sensors and beacons are being used in construction projects to make processes on building sites more efficient, as well as to document and assign information to construction objects. Abduaziz Juraboev will explain how RFID transponders can be used in construction material and be connected with BIM models to create digital twins.

The connection of RFID transponders and BIM models enables new use cases. This includes the development of electronic guidance systems to improve orientation for people with impaired mobility in buildings and the identification of objects in sewage systems for predictive maintenance.

These use cases as well as technical details and functionalities, hardware and software components, and an app developed for these applications will be presented in the lecture.
