In the Milan (Italy) flagship store, the fashion company Diesel places UHF RFID labels on all products to offer customers additional information.
Founded in 1978, Diesel is an Italian manufacturer of jeans, fashion clothing and accessories. The company produces collections with around 3,000 new products every season.
The flagship store should create a shopping experience for visitors and customers. The goal was to integrate technical innovations with the aim of product promotion.
Objective
In Diesel's flagship store, a smart fitting room has been equipped with readers and antennas to recognize the UHF RFID labels. As soon as a customer with tagged goods enters the cabin, the detection triggers a recommendation display on screens.
RFID was integrated into an interactive table to identify items or accessories on the table. The identification of the products enables the generation of additional information on a screen. This includes an item description, details of size and color, and combination options with other items of clothing and accessories.
The tagging of the goods for the flagship store is done by a special coding and labeling system in the distribution center.
